Molan Gold Standard


The Molan Gold Standard is a trademark used by Oha Honey as a marker of the Methylglyoxal content in Manuka Honey. It is a government-approved certification mark that appraises the natural marker methylglyoxal found in Manuka honey and assures purity and quality. The Molan Gold Standard was developed and named after Dr Peter Molan, acknowledged as one of the world’s leading honey scientists.

We use the Molan Gold Standard to give our customers full confidence that what they are purchasing has an accurate, scientifically conducted measurement of the claimed methylglyoxal content. All Oha Manuka honey is rigorously tested for its methylglyoxal content and certified by an accredited New Zealand laboratory under the ISO17025 standard. A lab certificate for any batch of Oha Manuka honey is available upon request.
